Child & Educational Psychologist
Phillippa is a registered Child and Educational Psychologist. Prior to becoming a psychologist Phillippa was a teacher, practicing in Europe and New Zealand. Phillippa has worked in the field of psychology and education for over 25 years. She completed her qualifications in New Zealand attending Auckland, Massey and Waikato Universities. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology, Master of Educational Psychology (honours), Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education, Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Teaching.
Phillippa works with young people who have emotional, social, developmental, intellectual or educational needs that are beyond the capability for the young person and their family to address effectively. Phillippa applies client-centred practices to all areas of her work, and she uses therapy approaches that are best suited to a young person’s identified needs. Over the past 18 years she has worked at the Ministry of Education working in schools with students who have the highest needs. She also works in private practice seeing young people under the ACC Sensitive Claims Contract.

Phillippa’s therapy approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Sand Tray, Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Phillippa is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society, The New Zealand Psychologists Board and she is ACC Registered for Sensitive Claims.
