Tiny Giants

Jacki Mayne-Davis

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, first class Honours, James Cook University, Townsville, Australia.

My career has included special schools, Starship Community, neurological injury rehabilitation for adults and children, adapted sports programs and therapy programs for teenagers living with high and complex needs.  Prior to welcoming my son into our family last year, I was the national manager and lead paediatric Occupational Therapist for an injury rehabilitation company in Auckland.

My therapeutic skills lie in helping children from the early months, up to early adulthood, navigate developmental, motor, sensory and/or social-emotional challenges that impact their daily activities.  Whether it’s learning to shower and toilet independently, improve concentration in the classroom, or learn to cope (and thrive) with big emotions, I have a wide range of activities and resources up my sleeve to help you achieve these goals.

Many families will work with me a for a block of sessions, to better understand their child’s sensory preferences, teach them new coping strategies, and build skills in independence and confidence.

Outside of clinic sessions, I can be found delivering adapted sports programs for young people with disabilities (neurodivergent and/or physical); playing Ultimate Frisbee;  running the dog and the pram around the local parks of our beautiful city.
