Elle Nusbaum is a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and member of Hypnosis New Zealand. She uses gentle, age-appropriate, gut-directed and trauma-informed hypnotherapy to help young people aged 5–18 build calm, confidence and resilience.
Elle has specialist training in Gut-Directed and Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapy, alongside complementary, evidence-based protocols that support the gut-brain connection, inner belief systems and emotional wellbeing.
She recognises the relationship between the nervous system, emotions, thoughts and physical wellbeing, and provides a safe space for young clients to build positive coping strategies, confidence and self-awareness.
For teens, this also extends to a wider range of presentations:
Gut-directed hypnotherapy sits alongside management of functional abdominal pain and disorders of the gut-brain interaction (DGBI), offering a symptom-focused approach for children and young people.
There is a substantial body of paediatric gastroenterology literature supporting gut-directed hypnotherapy as an effective treatment for paediatric disorders of the gut-brain interaction, including functional abdominal pain and IBS.
Alongside her clinical practice, Elle draws on a strong background in creative arts, using creativity and imagination where appropriate to help children explore their strengths. She works collaboratively with children, families and healthcare professionals, tailoring her approach to each child's needs.
